at the white house. the national security agency's security network has the ability to spy on 75% of all u.s. internet traffic. in addition, quote, it retains the written consent of the e-mails sent between citizens within the u.s. and also filters domestic phone calls made with internet technology, but that's not all. according to newly declassified documents, the nsa was rebuked in 2011 by a secret court for collecting thousands of e-mails from americans. the agency admits those e-mails had absolutely no connection whatsoever to terrorism. here's why the story is so critically important. number one, nsa officials admitted to the journal that the systems' reach is so broad domestic communications are more likely to be intercepted than foreign ones. number two, this proves that the government's ability to spy on you and your neighbors is greater than we've all been led to believe. and number three, chalk this up as yet another piece of evidence that the self-proclaimed most transparent administration in history is anything but. joining me now with reaction to all of this is former bush senio

, reza, can you tell us about the latest situation there at the mosque? >> reporter: incredibly after 17 hours, the siege and standoff still continues. some dramatic images coming to us from state media about a couple of hours ago. some of the protesters who were holed up inside, women, coming out, escorted out by armed security forces who were firing in the air. in an apparent effort to disperse angry crowds who had gathered around. this particular mosque is an area in cairo that was supposed to be the final destination for tens of thousands of supporters of the ousted president mohamed morsi and the muslim brotherhood marching against it yesterday. during these marches there are clashes, scores of people were injured, scores of people were hurt. many were taken to this mosque. also racing to this mosque were protesters who wanted to take cover from the gunfire. then came 7:00 p.m. the curfew went in effect. these people, these protesters were effectively trapped inside. armed security forces surrounded the mosque. also surrounding the mosque, unknown gunmen. at some point, state media

decatur, georgia, joining us with the latest. what can you tell us? >> we just heard from the police chief of dekalb county, georgia. there was a single gunman described at 19 years old. he gained entry through the locked doors of the school by following someone else in. he immediately went to the school office carrying an ak-47 and some other weapons, we're told, but definitely an ak-47. from that position and after authorities arrived after initial calls, he exchanged gun fire. he fired about a half dozen shots at authorities outside the school and then authorities then returned fire. after that he gave up without incident. but it was a terribly scary time there at the school. many of the kids were taken outside. some were sheltering in place in their rooms. they are now being released back to their parents. that was a long process in itself. and what we're looking at right now is a lot of anxious parents very relieved but also very upset to find out how close this came to being a very deadly situation. no motive here possibly that the chief is willing to talk about, but he did tell us t
